Goodbye 2013 and GCgirl....

I took an admittedly bad photo, but wanted to share my new craft space that is ALMOST finished. I could not in good conscience keep it all for myself!  We have a place for reading, movie watching and generally just all hanging out.  It is a great space for the family to do different things but spend time together (even the dog as you can see).
I am pretty excited about this new space finally ready crafty goodness, and if the Lord is willing I hope to really spend time honing my skills this year.  Having said that, I am retiring this blog..  It has been a blessing and has been good for a season.  That season is over, and I look forward to a new chapter in my creative, spiritual and online life.  I am praying that I will find a way for those to all be seamless and to God's glory alone.

I do want to express my thanks to each and every one who has commented and encouraged me along the way here.  Kindness is always appreciated and some of your comments helped to sustain me on some very down days.  I will cherish some of them always.

With no further ado, may the Lord bless and keep you and make His face shine upon you.

Soli Deo Gloria
Marsha

Some projects as of late...

These are some of the girls that have shown up around here while I have been getting my room together....I am liking a few of them, but a couple will hopefully find a new home soon.

I also wanted to share my Christmas stocking project.  I have wanted a girl one for a while now and have been collecting the stuff to make one...so I finally decided to go for it (the day after Christmas).  We are going to do a family gift exchange on NewYear's Day here since my son has been gone over the Christmas holiday so it works out fine.  I have a little more hand stitching to do on this, but it is pretty much as complete as I want it for now.  I thought I may add more next year, but I am mostly happy with it.  If you are a seamstress...don't look too closely because I am not!  I just dive in and do things the hard way, the wrong way, but if I don't just go for it I will never do anything new!  I learned a lot and could make another one much more pristine...but where is the fun in that?

I have really been learning how impatient I am AND how perfectionism can get a grasp on me so I can fluctuate wildly between the two.  It is my desire and prayer to just be more even keeled and enjoy the day, the process and even the imperfections.  We all know that perfect is a lie anyway, right?

That's all for today, and I already have my post done for tomorrow with my room reveal (sort of) to finish out 2013.  It has been a fast and full year for my family and I am hoping for a blessed new year that is at least a tad bit less transitional!

Merry Christmas

This is a photo of my newly planted crab apple tree in a recent ice storm.  I will be back soon for a lengthy year end post with some photos of recent work and direction for the new year.  In the meantime, I want to wish each one who reads this post a very Merry Christmas in celebration the incarnation of Christ..

God did an incredible work in sending His only begotten Son into the world and providing us with a salvation we do not deserve. Praise the Lord for that moment in which “the Word became flesh.” We are now redeemed “with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect” (1 Peter 1:19).
