This week is really busy for me, but I could not go two days in a row without stamping something! Today's card is for yesterday's mojo monday sketch challenge. It is a montage of supplies from various places, which to me is the best way to be a good steward of what I already own. I am anxious to purchase a ton of new stuff that I already have picked out, but can't justify spending the $$ until I use a little more of the haul I have already purchased/accumulated over the last several months...especially when I really need a new digital camera! SU supplies are so great because everything coordinates, but sometimes I just like to use my own imagination. Anyhoo, this card came together quickly for me and turned out just like I wanted it. There is a first time for everything!!! I like it and hope you do too. Have a blessed day :-).

Today's Mojo Monday sketch was provided by Mary Fish. I kept thinking about how meticulous all her work is as I was struggling with an attempt at keeping it all straight. Then I thought that this layout reminds me of a quilt...I know that the ones I love the most were made by my grandmother. They are not works of art, just pieces of scrap material sewn together with love. My mother used to call me Christine when she was angry at me (my grandmother's name). Maybe I am a little like my "grannie" after all. In my estimation that's a good thing. Thank you Mary for this sketch which sparked some fond memories and personal reflection. That's part of the creative process...right?

Well, as promised earlier today, here is my card for the mojo monday challenge. I did improve my lighting...now my camera is showing its age. I can't see working this hard to create something to share and have it photograph so poorly. Needless to say, there will be eyelash batting going on to convince my hubby of the same thing! At any rate, where did this victorian card come from??? I have no idea, but I guess I am still just experimenting to find my style. Thanks for looking :-).
Today's first post is for Paper Pals Arts challenge #4, anything but a card. These are two little notebooks that I covered with CS and embellished. The one on the left is done in Old Olive CS, ink and ribbon. The flowers are from the one of a kind stamp set and the sentiment is from the oval alls. The notebook on the right was created with Chocolate Chip CS and scraps of paper that I put through the cuttlebug, punched with scallop circle punches and slit. I layered them and sponged the edges for depth. The leaves I saw somewhere (??) and wanted to try for myself. I put the paper through the crimper on a diagonal and then just folded in half and cut out leaf shapes. I also sponged the edges for depth. The lighting for my pictures is bad....I am going to work on a solution before my next post! Hope you enjoy them anyway :-).

Today is day three for Mojo Monday's week long celebration. I used the Always stamp set from SU, black, vanilla and real red CS; Versa Mark and Basic Black ink for my stamped images; Embossing powder and the Eyelet Border Punch and some nestabilities finished the card. I don't know why, but this was one of the toughest cards I've made. My "mojo" was a no-go!! I did manage to finish it--now if I can just get the rest of my half-done tasks completed...

Today's card has a floral motif because I discovered that my hard work from the weekend was all for the dining pleasure of our wonderful neighborhood squirrels. Since I can't plant them I suppose I will stamp them!!! I guess the bright side is that as long as the squirrels are feasting on my flowers they will not chew the wiring inside my car (as they did my neighbors)! This card was done from the SU hostess level 3 set, flower lines using whisper white and crushed curry. I think tomorrow I will definitely have to use red in memorial of my pretty petunias....***This is actually take two of this sketch...I wasn't happy with my first take and decided to retry it. I am happier with the second outcome :-).

This post is for today's Mojo Monday challenge. There will be a new sketch from MM every day this week to celebrate turning 100...yeah!! I really like the challenges to spark my creativity ;-). For today's card I wanted to keep it simple and make something that I could use...seems like lots of people on my prayer list these days. The main image is a cross from inkadinkado that I just picked up this this weekend, the sentiment is from a Verve set that I have been waiting to ink up. My card base is vanilla and the rest is Old Olive CS, DSP and ribbon. I just love this color (you were right Christi). I have a habit of gravitating to the same color when I like it. This is my second card in as many days in this color, so I will purposely choose something different the rest of the week!

This challenge was to use something from the curiosity shop website as an inspiration. When I saw this adorable stitched owl kit I knew I had to make my paper version! I have to thank Dawn Griffith...I first saw the owl punch tutorial on her youtube channel. She rocks!
I was busy in my yard yesterday and didn't get to post anything. I did get to put fresh flowers both as a border and in my window boxes so I guess that counts for making something pretty ;-). Anyhoo, today's card is for the split coast stampers weekend challenge #93. I love these cute little birds and thought they fit the bill. The old olive CS & DSP are my favorite. Thanks for taking a peep...

Since I got such nice comments on Ginger I decided to post some better pics of her...here she is in all her glory looking like she owns the place! I don't think we can convince her otherwise ;-). The funny thing is...I do not consider myself a dog person, at least until I met this little diva. It is amazing how life has a way of changing my perspective...I think I am mellowing with age!

I made today's card for the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge using the cottage wall DSP from SU with Whisper White and Razzleberry CS. I stamped the main image from the embrace life stamp set using versa mark and pastels, then added a sentiment from the manhattan floral set for the inside of the card. My tools included the scallop and word window punches and some nestabilities.

Today I finally made a card for that terrific hubby I mentioned. He has been so great to help me sand, fill, paint and hang all my craft storage...I'm sure he deserves a handmade thank you. The totally tool set is SO him....except I am sure that his lines and measurements are always much more accurate than mine!!
It is a nod to him and a montage of cased ideas I got from the web...the silver cardstock makes the saw really pop. If only I could paste my paper straight...I will have to just keep practicing ;-).

This is my first ever card challenge in response to Pals Paper Arts. I am a huge fan of the creators/designers.
This was a color challenge to use Chocolate Chip, Mambo Melon and Bermuda Bay Colors.
I followed those rules by layering the color combo, then used the seasons of friendship stamp set for the tree, the Boho Blossoms punch for the flowers, hole punches for centers, the modern label and word window punches for the sentiment and the Melon Mambo ribbon for accent.
I'm new to the blog world and to any crafting as well. I am diving in to share in the fun that I have spent many hours enjoying vicariously via the web! This is my new craft space I have been working on. I recently took the plunge and signed up with Stampin' Up to be a demonstrator. I am a military wife currently stationed at Ft Benning GA with my awesome hubby, so space is at a premium and two corners is all I get (for now)!
I am more than a little intimidated by all of the gorgeous creative talent out there, but I am willing to start humbly and learn as I go!
I look forward to blogging and creating my own little treasures to share with those I love and any one else who would take an interest :-)!
May God bless and keep you!
